- Findlings is designed from the ground up to be a self-contained and secure experience.
- All content on the app, including text, images, and video, is reviewed internally for safety.
- Parents can choose to hide content some children may find scary, such as insects.
Ethical design
- Findlings respects child cognitive development.
- We don't build habit hooks: no streaks, gamification, or rewards.
- We are committed to ensuring children with disabilities can learn and explore on equal terms. We provide features to assist children with dyslexia, vestibular disorders, vision issues, and more.
- We don't send any device push notifications.
Data and privacy
- Findlings does not collect any data that can be used to identify children.
- Any data on the device, such as reading history and saved articles, remains on the device. We do not collect this.
- Findlings has no adverts, sponsored articles, or tracking mechanisms. We do not store cookies on your device. We do not use third-party analytics.
- We can see which topics or articles are popular. We don't tie that back to any accounts or usage patterns.
Trust first
- Trust informs all decision-making.
- All content on the platform is either created internally at Findlings or by trusted institutions and museums.
- We ensure all content is checked for accuracy and age-suitability for children aged 6-12.
- Some subjects, such as human reproduction, we leave for parents to introduce.
